VENDOR, a project that focuses on the street vendors of Lagos, Nigeria. Carrying a lot of goods for sale on their heads, hands, arms or shoulders, often walking along the road or even through busy traffic. It brings a lot of insecurities concerning the safety. For a majority of street vendors this is the only source of income.

That’s why the I developed the concept of VENDOR which exists out of a collection of wearable accessories, which enhance the ability of selling and provides better ergonomics during the selling. The assignment was developed with the design principals of Nike’s ISPA: Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt.

The pieces are made out of a recycled bag. The color green stands for the Nigerian Flag and the logo is inspired by the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge.
This thought behind this one that Lekki has a nice market where they sell arts and crafts. The aim of this collection was to give a more comfort and make the selling bearable with a twist.
