What if things are also beings? With 24 projects, spanning 13 rooms, the group exhibition 'When Things Are Beings’
reveals the power of objects and sculptures in a range of visual languages.
The works range from installation to photography and print, jewelry, object design, video, film, soundscape and performance.

Wat als dingen ook wezens zijn? Met 24 projecten, verspreid over 13 kamers, onthult de groepstentoonstelling 'When Things Are Beings' de kracht van objecten en sculpturen in een scala aan visuele talen. De werken variëren van installatie tot fotografie en print, sieraden, objectontwerp, video, film, soundscape en performance.
A job well done by curators Amanda Pinatih, Britte Sloothaak and with the help of Jasmijn Mol. The space designed by Studio L A, guides you through a room divided by opaque fabric, where the works emerge in their own spaces. The works of twenty-four artists telling their diasporic stories. Each project has its own spirit which fuels the curiosity to interact with ones eyes.
I’m beyond grateful and it feels surreal to share this space with my project AGBARA. To even be in alongside amazing artists, to continue to raise awareness and share the story with visitors. And of course the good news that my work has been acquired by Het Stedelijk to be in the permanent collection of the bi-annual series of the art acquisitions of the museum.
So far I received many positive reviews which only makes me want to continue this journey as a creative even more.

Een knap staaltje werk van curatoren Amanda Pinatih, Britte Sloothaak en met hulp van Jasmijn Mol. De door Studio L A ontworpen ruimte, geleid je door een ruimte die is gescheiden door doorzichtige stof, waar de werken goed tot hun recht komen. Het werk van vierentwintig kunstenaars die hun diasporische verhalen vertellen. Elk project heeft zijn eigen geest die de nieuwsgierigheid aanwakkert om met het oog te communiceren.
Ik ben meer dan dankbaar en het voelt onwerkelijk om deze ruimte te delen met mijn project AGBARA. Om samen met geweldige artiesten te zijn, om het bewustzijn te blijven vergroten en het verhaal te delen met bezoekers. En natuurlijk is het goede nieuws dat mijn werk door Het Stedelijk is aangekocht om in de vaste collectie van de tweejaarlijkse kunstaankopen van het museum te komen.
Tot nu toe heb ik veel positieve reacties ontvangen, waardoor ik mijn creatieve reis graag wil voortzetten.
